Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. link web page improve the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components inside them, with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The amount of damage that a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it should be heavier.
There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. Some upgrades give armor an extra number of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade that an item will receive, as shown below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Some upgrades also require charges to use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire according to the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant increases in stats and are worth the investment.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also affect its agility and its speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of the weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms also have upgrades that improve their innate qualities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade for applying. They can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrading will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets was a bit different. Before you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain amount of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to an increased quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items have a higher chance of granting you the highest level of blessings and perks.
Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they most often use to allow them to progress faster. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve a stat or provide secondary effects in weapons and armor. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and several ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the tier of the gemstone is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The Jeweler can improve the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a high enough level to be able to get these. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped with another identical jewel without damaging it. However you can only swap out the jewels in an equipment piece only once.
It is common to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and create a surface harder than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots do not damage them.
A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped out at any time but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. They are also available through vendors and after completing road interaction. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinkets that a player unlocks will be the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then collect necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar fashion as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero is not in combat. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also compensate for the absence of excellent team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's optimal stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It's more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.
In the beginning of the game players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket to a red, while top and middle players typically choose the pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
Aside from the things mentioned above, players can discover a variety of other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, finishing a chapter’s main quest or beating an opponent. item upgrading can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
